Open Door Health Services’ SHIP counselors will be available to help eligible community members enroll or make changes to their Medicare coverage. They can explain Medicare options, help find a plan that fits, and walk through the application process. Medicare open enrollment is from October 15–December 7, 2026, for coverage starting January 1, 2027.

Free Flu Shots | Ross Community Center
Get protected with FREE flu shots. Open to the public, ages 6 months+. No appointment necessary.
Flu shots will be administered during the food distribution.

Open Door Monster Dash 5K
Open Door's 3rd annual 5K is back with a spooky twist.
Join us on HALLOWEEN for the Monster Dash 5K! On Saturday, October 31, we invite ghosts, goblins, witches, and racers to stomp your way through downtown Muncie.

Cervical & Breast Cancer Screening | Open Door White River
In partnership with Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Open Door Health Services is hosting a FREE Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening (clinical breast exam, Pap test, HPV test) at Open Door White River on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Appointments begin at 6 pm. Space is limited, please call to make an appointment.
The screenings offered are a clinical breast exam, a Pap test, and an HPV test for the following:
Women ages 21 - 65
With no pap exam in the past year
Hasn’t had a total hysterectomy
A screening mammogram will be available that evening for those who qualify.

Car Seat Safety Clinic
Knowing what car seat fits your child and how to install it can be complicated! Our Child Passenger Safety Technicians can help with the following:
Checking if your child is in the right seat for their size
Making sure your child is buckled safely
Helping position and install your car seat correctly
Providing peace of mind—you can leave knowing your child is riding safely
Open to the public, for any parent or guardian. Child must be present.

Mental Health Support After the Flood
As our community continues to recover from the recent flooding and severe weather, we know the impact isn’t only physical. Experiencing a disaster can bring stress, anxiety, grief, and many other emotions.
Join us for a mental health resource event where you can:
Meet with Open Door behavioral health providers to talk through recent events
Participate in discussion groups and learn about mental health resources
Meet with schedulers to set up appointments
Get connected with support resources
Meet with Open Door’s Indiana Navigators to learn about healthcare coverage options
During this time, Open Door is opening our behavioral health care to the community, even if you aren’t an established Open Door patient.
