Melanie Hamlin, FNP-BC
ADULT & FAMILY CARE
Melanie Hamlin is a family nurse practitioner in primary care at the Downtown Muncie health center. In her thirty years of nursing, she’s worked in a variety of settings, including labor and delivery, medical-surgical nursing, orthopedics, and as a psych nurse manager. She completed her master’s degree in nursing at Indiana University East and has taught in the School of Nursing at Ball State University.
As an Open Door patient herself, Melanie loves the variety of services available in one place. She prioritizes good communication with her patients, making sure they understand all their options when setting goals and making health decisions.
Beyond work, Melanie is kept busy by her ten grandchildren and their baseball games and other activities. She lives on a farm in Daleville, where her husband raises Texas longhorns.
