OPEN OPPORTUNITIES

ArtVenture Camps (website)

  • Hosted by: Cornerstone Center for the Arts

  • Ages: 6-10 years old and 11-18 years old

  • Dates: Camps are available on various dates and times; see website for details

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost is $100 per student; scholarships are available.

  • Description: Options include Clay Camp (June 16-20), 2D Camp (June 23-27, only 6-10 age group still available), and Printmaking Camp (July 14-18, FULL). Each camp includes a special field trip (most are within walking distance) to a local downtown business that specializes in that week’s featured medium. It’s the perfect way for students to see how art thrives beyond the classroom.

Summer Lit & Enrichment Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Motivate Our Minds

  • Ages: Current 1st-4th graders

  • Dates: June 2nd-July 3rd, M-F. 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. $25 registration fee per student, $10/week per student. Siblings are $5/week. Lunch provided. Financial assistance is available by request.

  • Description: In partnership with Ball State University's Project Brilliance and other community organizations, students will build their creativity, leadership, and reading skills with a performing arts context. Students will also have an opportunity to learn about the community garden, participate in STEM activities, create art, and take local field trips throughout our community.

Indiana Academy Summer Enrichment Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, Ball State’s campus

  • Ages: Current 5th-8th graders

  • Dates: June 9-June 13, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. $140 for the week (if registered by May 30) with lunch included; 20% discount if registering siblings. Price increases to $160 on May 31. Questions about financial assistance, contact outreach@bsu.edu.

  • Description: Campers will explore different activities* each day that include SUMMER ADVENTURES in science, mathematics, creative writing, world language, and poetry. 

Camp Minnetrista (website)

  • Hosted by: Minnetrista Museum & Gardens

  • Ages: 8-14 year olds

  • Dates: Camps are available on various dates; see website for details.

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost per child per camp is $255. Free after-camp childcare is available until 5 p.m.

  • Description: Camps include Jr. Chef Camp (FULL), Culinary Skills Camp, Glass Artists Camp (FULL), and Minnetrista Explorers Camp. Each camp focuses on education, exploration, and imagination.

Summer Camp at Civic (website)

  • Hosted by: Muncie Civic Theatre

  • Ages: Options for grades K-12

  • Dates: Camps are available on various dates; see website for details.

  • Registration: OPEN. Costs range from $150-250 per child per camp. Tuition cost support may be available; fill out this scholarship form or email the Education Director, Bridget@munciecivic.org.

  • Description: Camps include Theatre in the Park , Tech Camp, Storyteller Camp, Live Orchestra Camp, and a production of Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Muncie Community Schools Summer Camps and Programs (website)

  • Hosted by: Muncie Community Schools

  • Ages: Options for elementary, middle school, and high school students

  • Dates: Various dates; see website for details.

  • Registration: OPEN. Some camps are NO COST; others require a registration fee.

  • Description: Includes summer school opportunities and orientations to middle school and high school.

Ross Community Center Summer Story Squad (website)

  • Hosted by: Ross Community Center

  • Ages: 8-11 year olds

  • Dates: Fridays, 1-2:30 p.m., June 20-July 25

  • Registration: OPEN. There is NO COST to participate.

  • Description: Join the Summer Story Squad for weekly adventures with great books and snacks inspired by our stories. Perfect for young readers to explore, create, and make new friends!

Team Faulk Youth Football Camp

  • Hosted by: Muncie Central High School

  • Ages: 8-18 year olds

  • Dates: June 14. Ages 8-12: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Ages 13-18: 1:30-4 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN to all MCS students. Onsite registration is available. Liability waivers must be signed by a parent or guardian at time of registration. There is NO COST to participate.

2025 Carl and Betty Erskine FCA All-Abilities Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Fellowship of Christian Athletes at at PickleHouse (3101 N. Benton Road, Muncie).

  • Ages: 6-65 years old. Aimed toward individuals with all disabilities, physical and non-physical. Each camper is assigned a trained buddy to help throughout the camp.

  • Dates: June 20-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. Also accepting volunteer applications. $40 per person; scholarships are available.  

  • Description: Fun and adaptive sports, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, cheer, soccer, kickball, and more. View overview video.

2025 Mega Kids Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Glad Tidings Church (3001 S. Burlington Drive, Muncie).

  • Ages: Current PreK-6th graders

  • Dates: July 14-18, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost is $20; includes t-shirt and snacks. Scholarships are available – contact Amy Cooper or call (765) 288-7309. Early registration through June 29; registration open through July 14.  

  • Description: Pre-K camp works on skills like jumping, balancing, throwing, and catching while having fun and learning about God’s plan for their lives. Grades K-4th choose a specific activity (e.g., archery, baseball, basketball, choir, cheerleading) to focus on all week. Grades 5-6 have activities geared toward their age group.

Ball State University Men’s Basketball Day Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State Athletics in Worthen Arena

  • Ages: Grades 1-8; open to boys and girls of all skill levels and experience

  • Dates: June 9-12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost is $240. Lunch is not provided; pizza snacks, and drinks available for purchase.

  • Description: Camp activities will include fundamental skill instruction, contests and competitions, 5-on-5 games (including a tournament on the last day), and speaking sessions by Ball State coaches.  This experience is a unique opportunity for campers to be part of our program and feel the excitement of Ball State basketball.

Ball State University Little Cardinals Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State Athletics in Worthen Arena

  • Ages: 4-8 years old, open to boys and girls

  • Dates: June 13, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost is $50. Lunch is not included; snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

  • Description: This one-day camp gives youngsters a preview of the Day Camp experience. Focusing on the fundamentals of basketball and having fun, this camp hopes to develop a "passion to play" in young players. 

Ball State University Women’s Basketball Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State Women’s Basketball in Worthen Arena

  • Ages: Grades 1-5, all skills levels and experience

  • Dates: June 16-18, 1-5 p.m.

  • Registration: OPEN. Cost is $100.

  • Description: Campers will work closely with our players, where they will be taught basic basketball skills and learn to love the game. Your camper will be able to compete while having fun doing so.

YMCA Summer Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: YMCA of Muncie at Northview and Grissom Elementary Schools

  • Ages: Current K-5th graders  

  • Dates: June 2-August 1, M-F, 7:15 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

  • Registration: FULL.

  • Description: Summer schedule is full of fun activities!

Boys and Girls Clubs of Muncie (website)

  • Hosted by: Boys and Girls Clubs of Muncie

  • Ages: Current K-4th graders; to be held at East Washington Academy
    Current 5th-8th; to be held at Madison Street Club

  • Dates: June 11th - July 24th (Closed June 19th, 20th, & July 4th)

  • Registration: FULL.

  • Description: Summer Camp will include morning academic enrichment, followed by traditional Club programming in the afternoon. Academic enrichment will be led by certified teachers with support from Club Staff. All members must have regular attendance in order to attend weekly field trips.

Camp Achieve (website)

  • Hosted by: Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder; held at Burris Laboratory School

  • Ages: 6-12 with autism

  • Dates: June 9 - July 15, 2025, 7:45 a.m.–2:15 p.m.

  • Registration: CLOSED. Deadline was April 20, 2025.

  • Details: Offers a positive learning environment where children with autism can develop and strengthen skills such as communication, social interaction, and adaptive abilities.

Indiana Youth Programs on Campus Camps (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State University

  • Ages: Middle and high school students; vary by camp

Young Mathematician X-ploration Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State University Mathematical Sciences, Ball State’s campus

  • Ages: Current 4th-9th graders at Muncie Community Schools, Burris, or Inspire Academy

  • Dates: June 9-13, 2025, 1-4 p.m.

  • Registration: CLOSED. Deadline was May 9, 2025.

  • Description: Campers will use math as a tool to explore, to model, and to analyze engaging, real-world situations in problem-solving teams.

Summer Learning at Camp Adventure (website)

  • Hosted by: Ball State Teachers College at Camp Adventure

  • Ages: Current 2nd graders at Muncie Community Schools and Burris Laboratory Schools

  • Dates: June 2 – June 26, 2025, M-Th, 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. (8 a.m. for Breakfast)

  • Registration: CLOSED.

  • Description: The camp provides an enriching atmosphere for learning and fun while supporting novice teachers in their professional development.

Creative Writing Camp (website)

  • Hosted by: Indiana Writing Project, Ball State’s campus

  • Ages: Current 2nd-11th graders

  • Dates: June 9-20, 2025, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (No Thursday, June 19, for Juneteenth) 

  • Registration: CLOSED. There is NO COST to participate. Door-to-door transportation is available through MCS for those living in the district.

  • Description: Camp is taught by local K-12 teachers who are assisted by Ball State students.
